Fig Trees from Northeast Edible are shipped bare root

Trees ship at between 1-2 feet tall

Fig trees should begin to produce fruit the year after planting.  Some might even produce figs the same season!

Trees will produce best when planted in full sun and in well drained soil.

These fig varieties do well in USDA Zones 7-9.

When growing in zone 6 winter protection is recommened

We ship fruit trees spring and fall.  All orders after the close of the spring shipping window will ship in the fall.

Fall shipping typically takes place in November

Spring shipping typically takes place in early March through late April

 

Chicago Hardy Fig is know for its livability even in harsh northern climates.

Prolific northern producer often producing 100 plus figs from just one tree.

Once established can overwinter without much winter protection even in the Northeast (although I do cover mine every winter)!

Chicago Hardy produces medium sized, purple-brown skinned fruit.  USDA Zones 7-9

 

Negrone or Violette DeBordeaux Fig is said to be the best tasting fig!

Negronne grows into a shorter, bush type formation making it ideal for pots in colder climates.

Large fruits have dark purple, nearly black skin.

 

Purple Sweet Fig

Purple Sweet Fig ripen to a dark purple skin.

Figs are medium sized with a sweet, rich flavor.

Early producer will have you enjoying figs for several months each year!

 

 

Varieties are great for no spray or low maintenance growing.

Fig trees can produce fruit for decades given the right location and winter protection.  They make a great addition to any garden
