Gold Rush apples are crisp and juicy with a bit of tart and tangy flavor that is said to sweeten with age. They are a great all-purpose apple, good for eating fresh, making juice, pies, or even storing for up to 1 month. Cider makers swear by the Gold Rush as a favorite disease resistant cider apple. Gold Rush ripens in late fall producing a round medium sized orange redish fruit.
Liberty apples produce large bright red fruit with excellent flavor. Apples have a well balance flavor with mostly sweet but a little bit of tartness making it primarily a fresh eating apple. Liberty apples store well, and some argue that their flavor improves after storage. Liberty apples ripen in early to mid-fall. Trees are a heavy producer year after year. Red skinned fruit with white flesh makes a desirable combination.
Enterprise apples are firm and crisp with spicy flavor mixed with a bit of tartness. Enterprise ripens in mid fall and is an excellent keeper. Fruit can be stored for up to 3-5 months. Enterprise is good for fresh eating and is often used in pies and cooking.
Williams Pride apples are prized from their flavor and disease resistance. Fruit is described as sweet and spicy with a crisp flesh. It’s red skinned, medium to large sized apples ripen in late summer early fall. Apples can be stored for up to a few weeks.
